Cinema Anteo – via Milazzo 9, Milan – From 3 February to 2 April 2003
GUIDE TO THE EXHIBITION by Antonella Colicchia
A woman tells about her city, Milan, and the experience of living in this and other European metropolises (Moscow, Berlin, London, Saint Petersburg). And he does it as no one had dared so far, through photographs of different formats accompanied by metropolitan graffiti and a choice of his best verses, which can be seen and read from 3 February to 2 April at the cinema Anteo via Milazzo 9, in Milan. Title of the exhibition: Changing walls.
On the first panel a guide to reading by Tiziana Villani, which she dedicates to the first Italian photopoet, the cover of her magazine Millepiani, May 2003.
Milanese, 47 years old, graduated in English with a thesis on American cinema, journalist from Airone, Anna la Stella began photographing in 1972 with her friend Marco Ferragni, mainly black and white portraits. In 1994 he shifted his interest to the urban landscape and, in particular, to graffiti, a form of expression halfway between painting and writing that has as its premise the city walls and feels very close.
The first poems date back to 1988-1989. As the words of Muri reveal, they tell of themselves, of friends, of loves, of emotions and above all of the passing time, that runs, that haunts us. Photoshop has done the rest. As a true self-taught La Stella has taken possession of the vehicle. Heart and technique today make rhyme.
